Meet Mrs. Walters!
Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my family! My husband, Randy, and I have been married 41 years. We live in St. Clair and have three grown children. Our oldest daughter, Autumn, graduated from Wayne State University and is married. She and her husband, Joe, have given us our grandchildren, Harrison, Vivienne, Elijah, Adeline, and Cassian. Our middle daughter, Randy Marissa, graduated from Wayne State University and married Geoffrey. They have given us our grandchildren, George, Ruby, Ellis, William, and Arthur. Our youngest child and son, Cameron, graduated with his Marketing degree from Walsh College of Business. He married Rachel, a professional photographer. Cameron works for Evident Church. They have given us our two grandsons, Lincoln and Levi. So I have 12 grandchildren (All under the age of 9!) during this school year!
My husband works for Stalantis/Chrysler in the research and development division. I have been teaching for more than 29 years, 27 of which have been at Richmond Community Schools. During this time I have taught 3rd grade, 4th grade, and technology for all students. I graduated from Wayne State University with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education (my major is science), I then received my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University. I have gone on to be trained in MLPP (literacy), 21 things for teachers and students (computers), Classroom Instruction That Works (CITW), DRA literacy, Foss Science, ADDvantage Math Remediation, the Academy of Natural Resources, and Teacher Leader academy. For quite a few years I was the science coordinator for our elementary, and now am on the Science curriculum committee. I enjoy being on the School Improvement Team, and for a time, I was also on the District Grading Committee. In 2015 I was Elementary Teacher of the Year. I have mentored several teachers, as I am again this year. So as you can see, I stay current in the field of education for your child.
My husband and I enjoy camping, canoeing, hiking and riding on trails. I also enjoy working out at the YMCA, bicycling, gardening, reading, and cooking. I love spending time with my family! We are all very involved at our church, Crossroads Community Church, in East China.
I look forward to getting to know each of you a little more!! Blessings to you!
